Start the Thing that Scares You
During spooky season, we talk about our fears. One thing that scares all of us is starting something new. I invite you to start something that scares you this October. It’s fun to plan, to brainstorm, to dream. The fear creeps in when you have to do the things you’ve planned and dreamed. I’m often asked how I expanded McCord Consulting Group internationally. I did a bit of research, I made a plan, and then I acted. It was scary to start. I didn’t know if I had all of the correct information. I didn’t know if my plan would work. And, even after I started, not everything was easy. I made mistakes, I had to redo work in a new way. But in the end, I wanted to see my brainstorm and dream become a reality. So, I had to face my fears and just start.
What scares you? What are you putting off because of fear? Are you afraid to submit that proposal because you don’t feel like you’re qualified? Are you afraid to expand into a new market because you don’t have any connections established? Are you afraid to start a new program or service because you don’t know how it will be received? Use this October to face one of your fears and start something great!
