Who Do You Love?

Valentine’s Day, Stout Month, and Black History Month! How do you connect these wonderful things that happen in February?

Well, MCG, being a true Colorado company, loves (Valentine’s Day Reference) craft beer. Mountain Sun Brewery, a great local pub, celebrates Stout Month every February and we love to grab a pint and participate. But, how does this connect to Black History Month? I couldn’t find any black craft breweries in Colorado (if they exist, please let me know and I will update the blog), but I did find an interesting NPR article and a link to Harlem Brewing Company and The Brooklyn Brewery, two Black owned breweries. The article also talks about Michael Ferguson, the Director of Contract Brewing and Beer Training at BJs Restaurant.  And, the Brooklyn Brewery even has a Black Chocolate Stout and a Dry Irish Stout, bringing the theme back to Stout Month!

So, today, celebrate Valentine’s Day, Stout Month, and Black History Month by drinking and falling in love with a stout made by some black brewing pioneers!
